JANUARY

The Simple Life : a display on the men and their families who were part of the Guild of Handicraft
This display returns to the Museum, and looks at lives of the ordinary men and their families who were part of Ashbee’s Guild; their transition from the East London to Chipping Campden, the role they played in the Guild and what became of them after the Guild disbanded in 1908. Since it first went on display a number of objects made by the Guildsmen and their descendants have been lent to the Museum.

A selling exhibition from AD Antiques. The exhibition will feature fine British Art Pottery by factories and designers such as William De Morgan, Martin Brothers and contemporary potter Heide Warr

Thurs 28 March – Sun 2 June
Exhibition: Reginald Sharpley; a neglected Campden Artist
Reginald Sharpley (1879-1947) was a civil engineer, Guards officer in the War, and artist who came to Campden in the 1920s. Here, he painted, drew, made prints, hunted, and involved himself in the artistic life of the town. This exhibition comes mostly from family holdings

A selling exhibition by contemporary designer makers of the Oxfordshire Craft Guild

Exhibition: Winchcombe Pottery: Britain's most famous craft pottery
Winchcombe Pottery, set up by Michael Cardew, has been producing useful domestic wares for over eighty years. It has always been a team effort overseen by Cardew, then Ray Finch and now Mike Finch; many potters from Britain and elsewhere have gained valuable practical experience working there.

Exhibition: Arts & Crafts Jewellery: the work of Arthur and Georgie Gaskin
This husband-and-wife team are best known for their stunning artistic jewellery based on leaf and flower forms highlighted by this exhibition. Also on show will be examples of their work as illustrators. The Gaskins worked mainly in Birmingham but moved to Campden in 1924.

DECEMBER

GofH: a century of fine silver in Campden
This exhibition will celebrate the on-going craft traditions of The Guild of Handicraft and in particular the Hart Silversmiths Trust Project to conserve, catalogue and digitise the important collection of over 3000 drawings produced by Hart’s workshop over the last century and encourage their use as a major learning resource.

At One-on-one events, an informed guide will talk and answer questions about a chosen object or person featured in the permanent exhibition at Court Barn. These events last about half an hour.
