The Friends aim to provide promotional and financial support to ensure the continued success of the museum, by generating enthusiasm and awareness throughout the north Cotswolds and the wider world.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS - 2019

Saturday 17 March

A selling exhibition Spring Delights at Court Barn. 10% discount for Friends on first day.

 

Saturday 19 May

A social activity to celebrate Charles Ashbee’ s Birthday with a walk/visit to Saintbury Church, following the footsteps of C.R. Ashbee’ s regular walk from Chipping Campden to Saintbury.

Meeting outside Court Barn Museum at 10am.    

£ 5.to include refreshments.

 

Thursday 21 June

Visit to Rodmarton Manor and Gardens. An Arts and Crafts house built by Ernest Barnsley and the Cotswold group of craftsmen.  A morning visit by Hedgehog and car with lunch there.

 

Saturday 30 June

Visit to Compton Verney for a private tour of their summer exhibition Rodney Peppe’s World of Invention with the Curator, Barley Roscoe.  The exhibition will offer a fascinating insight into Peppe’s  creative career as craftsman, artist and children’s author and illustrator. Own transport.

 

Wednesday 5 September

Visit to  The William Morris Gallery, Walthamstow, London.  The gallery tells the story of the life and work of Morris and his artistic circle.  Housed in a Georgian mansion set in Lloyd Park, it was the family home of young William Morris from 1848 to 1856. 

Travel by coach.

 

Thursday 18 October

A talk by Graham Peel on Alec Miller and the Guild: 'The Completing of a Master Craftsman’ s Education.'

The Court Room, the Old Police Station, Chipping Campden at 7.00pm.     

£ 5 for Friends, guests £ 7, payable at the event.

 

Friday 16 November 4pm - 6pm - PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE

A preview of Christmas Delights a selling exhibition at Court Barn.  10% discount for Friends.  Refreshments will be served.

 

Tuesday 19 February 2019

A talk on the textiles of Phyllis Barron and Dorothy Larcher, who were at the forefront of the revival in hand block printing in the UK in the 1920s and 30s. 

Court Barn museum at 5pm.
